An exceptional example of Bauhaus-era industrial design, this dark brown bakelite desk lamp combines functionality, innovation, and timeless form. Originally designed in the 1930s by the Bauhaus design team, it was produced in Czechoslovakia by ESC as model TYP 11641.
The lamp showcases a clever and minimal construction—its shade features a wire clip mechanism that grips the bulb, allowing the light to be easily adjusted in any direction. This ingenious design reflects the Bauhaus philosophy of simplicity and purpose-driven aesthetics.
Crafted in dark brown bakelite that appears nearly black under certain light, the piece retains its original patina and remains in excellent vintage condition, showing only light, age-appropriate wear.
