About the Item

A stunning and most stately Chinese 19th century Porcelain and French Louis XV st. Ormolu mounted lamp. This stunning glazed Porcelain lidded jar mounted into a lamp is raised on a fanciful pierced Ormolu base with Rocaille designs. To each side are impressive and richly chased scrolled branches which lead from the base, and up each side, before splitting into two foliate decorated arms with saucers and candle cups. Above is the wonderful cobalt blue glazed Porcelain lid supported on a scrolled and pierced rim. The dome shaped fitted Porcelain lid showcases a large scale foliate finial.
