An exceptional piece of mid-century functional art, this lamp features a hand-carved sculptural body by American artist Clifford C. Stasack. The design represents a stylized, biomorphic female figure, showcasing the organic modernism popular in the 1950s and 60s. Signed "STASACK" on the reverse. Edward and Clifford C. Stasack are noted for their figural wood carvings and high-end artisanal lighting. Mounted on a unique, textured cork or lava-textured base that provides a rich organic contrast to the polished wood. Solid hand-carved wood with a warm, original patina.
