About the Item

Cocoon Table Lamp, Black Bakelite Silk Shade, Mid-Century Lamp 24" - UK 1970s Very elegant table lamp dates from the 1970s and stands 61 cm high. Base made of black bakelite, the lampshade is made in a fabric mixing cotton and silk. It features a sculptural, tapered cocoon-shaped shade made of cotton and silk, which softly diffuses the light and creates a warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated. The shade rests on a black Bakelite base with a stepped, circular design, typical of the period. Great organic form with contrasting materials! Whether lit or unlit, this piece is a strong decorative object. Standard E27 screw bulb holder. Plug can be changed upon request to meet US electrical standards. Dimensions : 61cm height x 19cm diameter at the larger part of the shade x 6cm diameter on top of the shade. PLEASE NOTE : a few minor stains and a trace of water on the shade that can easily be hidden depending on how you place the shade on the base (but absolutely no holes in the fabric). The bakelite base has minor traces of use. See photos to see these details.
