About the Item

Danish Mid-Century ceramic table lamp of the 1960-70s in different shades of blue. Glazed stoneware with a very nice impressed geometrical pattern. Mnufactured by Søholm Stentøj (Soholm pottery) on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. Søholm Stentøj, which means Soholm’s sandstone, was founded in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Sonne. The name Søholm, comes from the factory where the two founders were employed, a pottery near Copenhagen, in 1828-1839. It was the oldest factory operating in Bornholm, a Danish island off the south coast of Sweden, until it closed in 1996. In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes. Several Designers worked for Søholm Stentøj as Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi, Noomi Backhausen among others. The lamp is signed with the manufacturer's mark and comes with a new lampshade. New textile wiring. Works with 110v and 220v and a E26/E27 bulb. The EU-plug can be replaced by a US-plug for free. Lampshade diameter: 11.88" (30cm). Total height including lampshade: 20" (51cm). Height of the lamp base including socket: 12.8" (32,5cm).
