About the Item

A monumental Murano double cumulus "pawn" lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega. The lamp features a frosted clear and white mottled design, and is composed of three segments separated by white metal spacers, and rests atop a white metal base. CARLO NASON (1935 - ) is an Italian glass artist best known his use of historical techniques in producing some of the most inventive and beautiful lamps, vases, and sculptures. Born in Murano, Italy, his family is one of the island's oldest glass blowing families. Nason continues to live and work in Murano, and his works are in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass and The Museum of Modern Art in New York, among others. DIMENSIONS: 12"D x 35"H CONDITION: In original vintage condition, with wear commensurate of age and use. Wear/patina to metal pieces. Original wiring and sockets.
