About the Item
Exquisitely handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, “Persil” is a one-of-a-kind table lamp featuring a vintage Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase, dating to 1981. Decorated with the iconic “parsley” or “millefleur” pattern, this vibrant cobalt blue floral design showcases Royal Delft’s timeless artistry. Founded in 1653, Royal Delft is the only surviving ceramics factory from Delft’s golden age of pottery, celebrated for over 360 years of uninterrupted craftsmanship. Inspired by Chinese porcelain from the Ming and K’ang Hsi dynasties, the “parsley” pattern reflects the enduring exchange of artistic influences between East and West.
To complement the vase’s exquisite heritage, we’ve paired it with a bespoke, hand-pleated lampshade made from ethically sourced silk and cotton Ikat fabric. Ikat, an ancient resist-dyeing technique that originated in Indonesia over 5,000 years ago, involves meticulous hand-dyeing of yarns before weaving to achieve its signature blurred patterns. The lampshade’s bold “Lemongrass” green and white geometric design, crafted by skilled artisans in Uzbekistan’s Fergana Valley, contrasts beautifully with the Delft blue base. Once reserved for royalty and ceremonial occasions, Ikat textiles are prized for their labor-intensive creation process and their timeless, global appeal.
The combination of these elements creates a stunning blend of heritage and modern sophistication. The cobalt, green, and white palette evokes freshness and elegance, making “Persil” a statement piece for a living room, bedroom, or study. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way, preserving its authenticity and value.
This unique lamp seamlessly bridges the traditions of two historic crafts: Dutch Delftware and Central Asian Ikat weaving. It represents a thoughtful integration of global artistry into contemporary design.

Blue and White Chinoiserie Ceramic Table Lamp, Dutch Delftware, Vintage
By Delft
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
This blue and white Chinoiserie ceramic table lamp features a vintage Dutch Delftware style vase with sculptural ribbing paired with a custom Chinoiserie lampshade, blending mid-century design with traditional Dutch ceramic heritage. The authentic Velsen pottery vase has been transformed into functional lighting that celebrates both Dutch and Asian decorative arts.
The vase base displays distinctive vertical ribbing in white glaze characteristic of mid-20th century Dutch pottery. Its classic ginger jar silhouette exemplifies the Delfts Wit style—white glazed Delftware that developed alongside the more famous blue and white tradition. When illuminated, the smooth glaze creates beautiful ambient light diffusion.

Charles Catteau Art Deco Pineapple Table Lamp with New Ikat Silk Shade, 1920s
By Boch Freres Keramis, Charles Catteau
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
Lovingly handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from an antique Boch Frères Keramis vase (Model 1118, circa 1920–1930) designed by Charles Catteau, this one-of-a-kind table lamp transforms the iconic Art Deco “pineapple” vase. We’ve paired the vase base with a new bespoke hand-pleated lampshade made from hand-woven, hand-dyed Ikat cotton-silk fabric crafted on traditional Uzbek looms. We’ve also added a matching green cord. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way.
This ceramic vase—commonly referred to as the pineapple vase—was produced by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium between 1920 and 1930. Designed by Charles Catteau, the vase features a repeating geometric relief pattern molded into its ovoid form and finished with a fine ivory craquelure glaze. Known as Model 1118 in the Boch Frères catalog, it reflects Catteau’s Art Deco vocabulary: bold geometry, stylized natural references, and technical innovation in glazing.
