About the Item
A Dutch Delft-style polychrome faience table lamp, early 20th century, bearing an underglaze mark reading “Holland Delfes.” The baluster-form body is executed in tin-glazed faience with hand-painted polychrome decoration, richly decorated with floral motifs in cobalt blue, ochre, and iron red, drawing on the long tradition of Delft ceramics.
Such lamps were popular decorative elements in libraries, studies, and drawing rooms during the early decades of the 20th century and remain highly sought-after today among interior decorators and designers.
Shown with a patterned shade for styling purposes; shade available separately.
