About the Item
A wonderful Bauhaus-style lamp from the 1940s: a large brass table lamp by the West German company Egon Hillebrand – model 5302. This very solid lamp impresses with its large, domed shade, made entirely of brass and chrome-plated. Standing 40 cm tall with a shade diameter of 36 cm, it is not only an eye-catching piece but also a practical lighting element, fitted with an E27 bulb.
The desk lamp provides bright, pleasantly glare-free light through its large shade. It has a heavy metal base with a chrome finish and a curved, beautifully chromed brass neck. The lamp's surfaces are in very good condition with only a few minor dents and scratches. I therefore suspect that the lamp was re-chromed some time ago.
This lamp lends a touch of nostalgia and elegance to any room. A perfect addition for any lover of vintage design or for those who want to add a touch of history to their home.
Signed on the base with the manufacturer's mark and DRGM (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster - German Reich Registered Design). Hillebrand Leuchten was founded in 1881 by Egon Hillebrand in Neheim, Germany. The company designed and produced desk and table lamps for use in offices and homes. After World War II, the company continued to produce lamps and closed in 1995.
