About the Item
This is a stunning huge pair of Brutalist English Ceramic table lamps with super thick hand applied Art Glaze reminiscent of volcanic lava erupting from a mountain top and running down the side of the extra large bulb shaped base
The underglaze is a thick textured and mottled cream colour glaze similar to an ostrich egg which is then layered with the even thicker coloured glazes running down from the elegant stem neck in colours of Oranges, Browns and Gold in a lava like applications
The big ceramic vases are set on hand turned solid wood bases which have been gilded, though most of the gilt has worn off but to a beautiful effect of pale gold showing the wood grain underneath
The lamps are wired with USA style turn switch and house E27 lamp holders and a saddle for finial fitting shades - shade are not supplied with lamp but we would recommend an 18-20" Drum/ Empire style as pictured with the lamps
