About the Item
“Enigme”
Original “Max Le Verrier”
Sculpture in Art Deco style, France
Beautiful lady sitting on an Obelisk.
She seems to be hypnotized and fascinated by the lighted Glass Ball.
The lady wears a haircut typical for Art Deco: the bob.
The figure is dressed only in a light cloth, which is shown gathered in geometric shapes on the seat.
She is the bigger sister of the DELASSEMENT lamp from Max Le Verrier.
Both work very good together as an asymmetric pair, for example at nightstands in the bedroom or on a sideboard in the living room.
Table lamp, sculpture made in “Régule” (spelter)
Socle in black marble (could have a different marbleization than the picture)
Patinated - Handwork, patina could be different

Max Le Verrier
Max Le Verrier was born on January 29, 1891, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He opened his studio in 1919 and won a medal at the famed 1925 Exposition in Paris that gave Art Deco its name. Later, he established a foundry that cast bronze sculptures for Pierre Le Faguays and Marcel Bourain, among others. Although Le Verrier experimented with other alloys, he continued to create pieces in bronze as well. Le Verrier died on June 6, 1973, in Paris.
