About the Item

Finely cast bronze figural sculptures on marble bases with gilt bronze decoration. Recently re-wired and hold chandelier size light bulbs. Claude Michel (December 20, 1738 – March 29, 1814), known as Clodion, was a French sculptor in the Rococo style, especially noted for his works in terra cotta. Some of his beautiful works were made available in bronze throughout the 19th century.
