About the Item

Pair of table lamps, designed by Giuseppe Ostuni and produced by his company Oluce. Each lamp features a cylindrical base in chromed steel, fitted with a wide lacquered metal shade in vivid blue enamel. The design is both minimal and playful. The reflective column anchors the space, while the enamel shade asserts color and volume with confidence. Ostuni’s approach to lighting was as a sculptural element of the modern interior. He founded Oluce in Milan in 1945, making it one of Italy’s oldest lighting firms, and quickly established himself as a leading figure in postwar design. His lamps often combine precise industrial fabrication with strong architectural forms. Literature: Domitilla Dardi, Oluce 50th Anniversary: The Evolution of Light, Rizzoli, 2004; Charlotte Peter Fiell, Decorative Art 50s, Taschen, 2000.
