About the Item

Absolutely gorgeous midcentury pottery table lamp by Fog Mørup of Copenhagen for Aluminia of Denmark. These beautiful table lamps are designed by Ingelise Kofoed and have such a classic midcentury design to the shape and also especially the glazing. These lamps are in fantastic condition for their age with no cracks or chips. No shade included. The lamp can be fitted with an EU or USA plug before shipping. Will be rewired with a brown or white twisted cloth flex and fitted with a vintage E27 bulb holder and lampshade holder. Grounding not necessary as there are no metal parts. These lamps are handmade and hand glazed so there maybe slight variations in the color of the glaze. Aluminia was a Danish factory of faience or earthenware pottery, established in Copenhagen in 1863. Philip Schou (1838-1922) was the founding owner of the Aluminia factory in Christianshavn. In 1882, the owners of Aluminia purchased the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. In 1882, the owners of Aluminia purchased the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. The factories were operated independently under their respective trade names until 1969, when the use of the Aluminia name was ended. Since then the products have been sold under the mark "Royal Copenhagen Denmark Fajance."
