A volunteer in the French army during World War II and taken prisoner, he worked in a mechanical accessories factory, where he discovered and experimented with perforated sheet metal. Upon his release, he obtained French nationality.
In 1944, he established a workshop for the artisanal manufacture of furniture using various materials such as metal, rattan, glass, Formica, and perforated sheet metal. Initially based in Paris, the workshop later moved to Casablanca.
All the furniture and other objects feature clever, practical, and fun designs. Distributed in limited editions of 200 in decoration shops, his works were a huge success.

Gaetano Sciolari (1927 – 1994) is a designer, architect and above all an outstanding businessman, born in Italy in 1927. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture, the young man returned to his first passion, cinema, and in particular filmmaking.
However, after the death of his father in 1949, Sciolari had no choice but to take over the family lighting production business. In just a few years, the designer transformed the company and propelled it onto the international scene.
Sciolari was not only a brilliant business leader, he was also a creative, prolific and talented designer. He worked for the great names of design like Stilnovo in Italy in the 1950s, Boulanger and Stilkronen.
Throughout his career, he designed beautiful and incredible lighting fixtures like the “Mod A5011” pendant (circa 1950), the “4079” floor lamp (1965) and of course the Cubic chandelier (1970s).
His creations are shaped in both shiny and matte metal, multi-lights, evoking futuristic visions of the emerging space age. In the 70s and 80s, his creations are in high demand.
