About the Item
A French Art Deco table lamp by Gustave Asch, produced at Sainte-Radegonde. The lamp has a rounded, amphora-like body with a sculptural collar of concentric ceramic loops encircling the neck, giving the form both classical presence and a modern, decorative rhythm.
The body is finished in Asch’s signature cobalt “Tours Blue” glaze—deep, saturated blue with nuanced variation that became closely associated with his workshop near Tours. Lamp forms by Asch are markedly less common than his vases, making this model a noteworthy example of his early ceramic lighting.
