About the Item
Originally used for storing olive oil and grains, this hand-thrown vessel was crafted in the pottery village of Kınık in western Turkey, a region celebrated for its deep clay beds and enduring ceramic traditions. Local artisans mixed natural mineral pigments into the terracotta before firing, allowing them to fuse and flow in the kiln — producing the soft veining and fluid streaks that characterise Kınık pottery.
Now professionally converted into a table lamp in the UK, the piece showcases a rich red-brown body with pale mineral traces that catch the light beautifully. Its tall, amphora-style silhouette and double handles bring sculptural presence and a sense of grounded warmth to any space.
Perfect for Mediterranean, farmhouse, and organic modern interiors, this lamp complements limewashed walls, linen upholstery, and aged oak.
