About the Item
Pair of monumental Japanese "Kutani Ware"" hand painted porcelain table lamps with Cerulean blue peacocks and flowers, circa Mid 20th Century. These amazing huge lamps are forty inches tall and are perfect for a grand living room or large bedroom.
The lamps are high gloss white porcelain with hand painted Cerulean blue peacocks on the front surrounded by flowers and vines. This particular color of "Kutani Ware" is nearly impossible to find in a pair of lamps of this magnitude. These gorgeous blue and white lamps are also hand painted with detailed metallic gold fine lines. Both lamps are signed on the bottom of the porcelain with a Kutani Japanese symbol. This particular square symbol is called a "Kaku" Japanese Seal Script authenticating these lamps as original Japanese Kutani from the period.
EXCELENT RESTORED CONDITION. These lamps have been completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and reassembled with new brass necks, new brass sockets, new brass harps, new brass finials and new clear electrical cords for safety. The carved wood bases are original to the lamps and are in good condition.
Designer/Decorator ready.
VINTAGE LAMP SHADES INCLUDED:
The large Pagoda style lamp shades are a beautiful Cerulean blue color with a gold leafed interior to match the lamps. These vintage shades are made of a textured composite resin and are quite large, strong and durable. However, they show signs of wear, especially in the interior gold area. These shades can be used "as is" but we recommend new shades if so desired.
