About the Item

Innocente Gandini for Arredoluce, ‘Scultura’ table lamp, model '14098', aluminum, chrome-plated steel, Italy, circa 1970 This rare Scultura table lamp, model 14098, was designed by the innovative Italian designer Innocente Gandini. The lamp features a robust, solid construction that blurs the line between sculpture and furniture. Its distinctive parallelepiped forms are rotatable thanks to integrated magnets, allowing users to create dynamic compositions and direct the light as desired. The aluminum surfaces beautifully reflect the light, producing a bright, radiant glow, while the angular shades cast atmospheric partitions of illumination. The rectilinear base follows the same geometric design language, supporting the structure and housing the side-mounted on/off switch. With its sculptural character and bold interplay of strict angles and rectangular shapes, this lamp brings a vibrant, modern energy to any interior. The piece is signed "Made in Italy Arredoluce Monza". Innocente Gandini (1941-2016) is an Italian multidisciplinary artist known as a painter, ceramist, and designer. He graduated in scenography in Rome and was a member of ‘Associazione per il Disegno Industriale’ (ADI) from 1973 to 1977 and from 1984 to 1987. Gandini designed two lighting fixtures especially for Arredoluce, including the ‘Scultura’ table lamp. In 1973, Gandini took part in the fifteenth Milan Triennale, the international exhibition of modern decorative and industrial arts and modern architecture. Together with his close friend and artist Bruno Munari (1907-1998) he composed an installation titled ‘Specchio per la luce’.
