Magnificent Hollywood Regency Style!

This is a marvelous mid twentieth century jewelled accent lamp! During the sixties there was a revival of interest in Peter Carl Fabergé and all things to do with the Russian royalty. The film "Doctor Zhivago" came out in 1965 and the book "Nicholas and Alexandra" by Peter Massie was published in 1967 and sixties furnishing designers experienced a "Russian" moment!
This Incredibly beautiful lamp is the byproduct of this Fabergé inspiration -particularly the Fabergé eggs made for the Russian royal family! This lamp was inspired by the green-gold Fabergé Imperial Coronation Egg, with its trellis pattern and diamonds set at each intersection. This Egg is considered the most recognizable of all the Fabergé Imperial Eggs and was used by the designers to create a MAGNIFICENT interior lamp that is truly unparalleled in its elegance and eye appeal!
These lamps were created during this unique moment in time and were made for the well-to-do mid century interiors that were speckled throughout the world from Manhattan to Beverly Hills and from Palm Springs to Monte Carlo! Not many survive, due to the nature of all ceramic art objects - which are more fragile.
This one is minty! It has all of its jewelled amber glass pieces and hardly any wear at all to show for its 60 years of age! Presents marvelously!
This lamp is a true work of art and enhances any interior decor. The magic this lamp does for an interior when illuminated simply can be conveyed without seeing it in person!
A must have decor acquisition for your NY penthouse, West Palm Beach estate or Monte Carlo apartment!
