About the Item
A dramatic sculptural lamp depicting an eagle captured at the exact moment of descent, its wings fully unfurled and arched with powerful curvature, attributed to Jacques Duval-Brasseur, Paris, circa 1970. The bird is crafted in gilded and hammered brass, its surface richly textured and reflective, while the wings feature large mica panels that glow translucently when illuminated. The eagle perches atop a branching, coral-like brass structure that cradles a large natural amethyst geode, the interior of which lights from within to reveal glittering violet crystals. The interplay of polished metal, organic mineral, and warm internal illumination gives the piece a theatrical presence characteristic of Duval-Brasseur’s sculptural lighting—where nature is reimagined with glamour, movement, and fantastical elegance.
