Frosted Glass.
A rare and exquisite French Art Deco table lamp or night-light designed in the 1920s by renowned sculptor Louis-Albert Carvin. This sculptural lamp, shaped as a marabou bird, combines finely detailed spelter metalwork with a frosted glass shade to create a warm, atmospheric glow.

This rare sculptural lamp is not only a functional lighting piece, but also a collectible Art Deco decorative object. It reflects the craftsmanship and artistry of early 20th-century French design.
Born in Paris in the 19th century, Carvin trained under Gardet and Frémiet. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1894 to 1933, receiving the Medal of Honor in 1894.
Among his most notable works is La Muse de l’Aviation, a bronze trophy presented to Wilbur and Orville Wright in 1909 by the Aéro-Club de la Sarthe. The piece, which includes their busts alongside their sister Katharine, is still housed in the family’s Honor Room in Dayton, Ohio. His public sculptures can also be found in Clamart (Paris).
Carvin is best known for his finely modeled animal sculptures, especially of stags, dogs (notably shepherds), horses, birds, lions, and panthers.
