About the Item
A signed studio pottery lamp by iconic Italian ceramicist Marcello Fantoni, crafted in the 1950s. This striking midcentury piece features a flared, tapering form with hand-painted stylized figures in earthy tones of ochre, green, and black. The expressive, classically inspired faces and softly textured glaze embody Fantoni’s signature fusion of ancient Etruscan motifs and modernist abstraction.
Fantoni’s work is celebrated for its sculptural presence and painterly surfaces, and this lamp is a prime example—offering both atmospheric lighting and collectible ceramic artistry. The base is signed ‘Fantoni’ near the bottom.
