Rare Giddon desk lamp, designed by Martine Bedin in 1985.
A wonderful example of the postmodern lighting is this overly rare Gideon lamp. It is manufactured by Italian Manufacturer Megalit in 1985.
The design shows various of Martine Bedin‘s formal and esthetic principals towards the design of objects, using „simple“ geometric forms that fuse in the shape of the lamps base, head
screen.
St the same time it shows deep engineering qualities, esspecially in the joints. It is perfectly usefull and yet formally an early artifact designed by an influential Memphis-Pioneer in postmodern esthetics
industrial design and art.
The lamp is in used but good condition showing mostly minor some signs of aging on the coating on the joint. The plug is for European standard and you may have to change it according to your standard or use a adapter.
The lamp has a halogen socket for standard halogen bulbs.
