Mid-century ceramic lamp by Robert Chiazzo, 60's, Vallauris, Era Ruelland Capron
Lovely ceramic lamp by Robert Chiazzo, a ceramist from Vallauris' golden age in the 50s and 60s.
The enamel is shiny and soft to the touch. Very nice work. The piece is signed.
Height : 25,5cm with the lampshade (11,5cm without)

Robert Chiazzo (1924–2020) was a French painter and ceramist born in Hyères, known for his distinctive mid-20th-century ceramic work. After a varied early career, he discovered his artistic calling after World War II and, with support from fellow artists, became a self-taught ceramist in the late 1950s. He opened the gallery La Cueva in 1967 with his wife and exhibited his ceramics — often featuring rich glazes and organic forms — at events such as the Biennale Internationale de Céramique d’Art de Vallauris. Later in life he returned to painting, and his work continues to be appreciated by collectors worldwide.
