Mid-Century Czech Table Lamp by Vladimír Nývlt in Sculpted Wood, 1970s Rare Prague modernist design in solid wood – E27 socket, fully functional This rare Mid-Century table lamp, attributed to Czech designer Vladimír Nývlt, was crafted in Prague during the 1970s and reflects the strong sculptural aesthetics and craftsmanship of late 20th-century Czech design. Made from solid wood with a bold architectural silhouette, the lamp serves as both functional lighting and a collectible object of design. The organically shaped base features a sweeping carved form balanced atop a spherical foot, creating a striking interplay of curves and geometry. Its visual rhythm is both grounded and dynamic—an elegant nod to Brutalist and Scandinavian influences of the period. A tall cylindrical textile shade in natural woven fabric complements the sculptural base and diffuses light into a soft, ambient glow. The lamp’s surface shows a rich dark-stained finish that highlights the wood’s natural grain and adds depth to its form.
