A striking and expressive table lamp, likely produced in Italy during the 1970s, combining a sculptural chrome-plated base with a bold, hand-painted cylindrical shade. The lamp stands out for its exuberant decorative vocabulary, blending organic motifs with period-modernist geometry.
The tall cylindrical shade—crafted in fabric—features an expressive floral design in warm tones of ochre, yellow, and sienna, executed in a batik-like technique that gives the surface its characteristic crackled texture and painterly shading. When illuminated, the shade glows with a rich amber tone, enhancing the layered detailing of the floral pattern.
The base, of square section, is clad in reflective chrome-plated metal and decorated with sweeping, abstract wave motifs applied in a contrasting darker patina. The interplay between the polished surfaces and the hand-worked graphic elements evokes the bold styling of Italian decorative arts from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
