About the Item
Mother-of-pearl handmade table lamp, Indonesia, 1950s. Made entirely by hand and in a traditional way using the stained glass methodology, which consists of joining pieces of transparent or translucent materials by welding metals such as tin, lead, brass, etc. In this case the main material is motherofpearl, joined together with lead and finished in gilded brass, creating a recreation of a typical and traditional Vietnamese or Thai house. Folding windows and doors, with ladder and railing.
Tiki style piece, very common in the 50s and 60s as a souvenir of the first large-scale commercial flights. These types of pieces also began to be imported to Europe at that time, becoming luxury items in many Western homes because of their exotic materials.
For one E27 bulb. Original installation reviewed and fully operational. LED compatible. Perfect condition, with slight signs of wear. Switch inside. Original plug, with European adapter included.
