About the Item
A richly detailed pair of early 20th-century parcel-gilt and patinated bronze tripod table lamps, of Regency and Louis XVI revival character, the triform standards rising from deeply scrolled and voluted bases centered by stylized anthemion and foliate devices, set on concave black-painted plinths. Each lamp is conceived as three outward-curving monopodia supports, their fronts finely chased with acanthus and scrollwork and tied at the waist by floral roundels, enclosing a reeded central column. At the shoulders, boldly modeled feline masks issue from leaf-wrapped collars beneath a gadrooned and acanthus-cast drip pan, now fitted with single electrical sockets and recent cloth-covered cords. The overall design, with lion-mask monopodia and concave plinth bases, closely relates to early 19th-century English Regency candelabra and to later high-quality lighting produced in the early 1900s by firms such as E. F. Caldwell
Co. in New York and prominent London workshops, although these lamps are apparently unmarked.
Lamps have been recently rewired.

"The company’s artistic heritage began in the New York glassmaking factory founded by Max Blumberg in the late nineteenth century. In 1940, his son Jack Blumberg gathered the finest designers, sculptors, and decorative artists to fulfill their shared vision of becoming the world’s premier lighting manufacturer, and Fine Art Lamps was born.
In 1965, Jack’s son Max carried on the commitment of his grandfather and father to design excellence and superb workmanship. In 1976, the company moved to Miami and expanded its operations capitalizing on the dynamic and creative culture thriving in South Florida at the time. Over time, Fine Art has been honored with numerous design awards, including the prestigious ART Manufacturer of the Year Award an unprecedented nine times, distinguishing the company beyond compare, and cementing our induction into the ART Hall of Fame.
