Pair Aldo Londi for Bitossi Horizontally Glazed Art Pottery Table Lamps. Featuring textured glazed Cocoa Terracotta Ceramic imprinted bottle forms, Brass plated necks, hand applied stamping in alternating shades of Green, Mustard, Ochre, Brown banding a top circular custom (.75H x 6W) Walnut bases. Showing slight variation in design, coloration and height. 29.88H 29.63H to top of Finial. 22.75H 23H to top of Socket. 18.5 H 18.25D to top of Ceramic. Both Lamps 8.5D. The Black and White Lampshades are the same size, with 9H harps, and are shown for display only and not for sale (10.H x 13D top x 15 bottom). Bright. Classic. Italian Mid Century Modern. Bases signed separately with numbers and Base Made in Italy.

Bitossi cylinder shape table lamps where produced in stoneware with a natural glaze. The border at the neck is gilded, the band of shiny gold emphasis the rough texture of the ceramic body. Guido Bitossi established his own ceramic workshop near Florence, in Montelupo, in 1921. Originally the works was named (Ceramaic Manufactory Guido Bitossi & Sons), the company name was later shortened to Bitossi Ceramiche. After World War II, master ceramist Aldo Londi (1911-2003) was appointed creative director of Bitossi Ceramiche, he held that position for more than fifty years. During which time he was the creator of designs for vases, jugs, animals, candle stick holders and other objects.
