About the Item

Pair of Knubbling designed by Anders Pherson for Atelje Lyktan in 1971. They are made of a brass foot supporting a large white plexi chandelier with the characteristic diffuser under it. Light switch integrated to the base of the lamp. ANDERS PEHRSON (1912-1982) Anders Pehrson, was born in 1912 in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is today one of the most recognized Swedish industrial lighting designers. After having a fist experience working in the industrial field for Philips as a design manager, from 1952 to 1964, his carreer took a pivotal turn when in 1964, when he took over the Ateljé Lyktan, steering it towards international acclaim. Under Pehrson's direction, Ateljé Lyktan embraced a design philosophy that prioritized functionality, simplicity, and versatility. This design philosophy resulted in not just increased number of designs, but the creation of whole lighting collections known as “families”, encouraging costumers to collect the whole range. He introduced products that were both aesthetically pleasing and practical, with the "Bumling" lamp (1968) becoming one of his most famous creations, with its rounded, bulbous shape and vibrant colors, epitomized the playful yet functional style of the 1960s and 1970s, and remains a classic in Scandinavian design. but also Simris (1964), Rampling (1966), Supertube (1967), Fungus (1969), Crystal (1970) Knubbling (1971), Tube (1973), and Sobo (1978). He passed away in 1982, leaving an important legacy in the field of design. Today his fixtures are highly sought after collectors and design enthusiasts.
