About the Item

A beautiful pair of circular table lamps designed by Carlo Nason for Linea GB Milano, showcasing the designer’s celebrated mastery of Murano glass. Each lamp features a layered, hand-blown glass form composed of three distinct sections: a clear smoked-glass dome on top, a central opaline glass band that diffuses light with a soft, even glow, and a lower section in warm smoked glass that grounds the silhouette. The rounded, biomorphic profile is characteristic of Nason’s work from the 1970s, combining modern minimalism with the sensual curves and impeccable craftsmanship of Venetian glassmaking. When illuminated, the lamps emit a warm, atmospheric radiance and reveal subtle tonal transitions within the glass. Striking both lit and unlit, these lamps function as sculptural objects as well as functional lighting. Carlo Nason is an esteemed Italian designer known for his innovative contributions to Murano glass lighting. Born into a family of master glassmakers, he combined traditional Venetian craftsmanship with a distinctly modern, minimalist aesthetic. Nason’s work from the 1960s onward often features modular forms, layered glass elements, and elegant tonal transitions. He collaborated with renowned manufacturers such as Mazzega and Linea GB Milano, creating iconic lamps that remain highly collectible for their sculptural presence, technical refinement, and timeless contemporary appeal.
