About the Item
A pair of compatible antique Chinese hand carved green quartz covered jars mounted as electrified lamps. The lamps with removable lids held in place by a pierced metal banding to allow for lightbulb change. The vessel is cradled in a pierced rosewood footed element and surmounted on a relief spelter base. Natural variation to quartz in additional to the floral and foliate carvings. The lamps come with traditional turn sockets as well as antique harps with Chinese symbolic finials.
One lamp is wired such that the top will control both the socket and the interior light with the interior light having its own switch. The second lamp has two switches that operate the top and bottom independently.
Dimensions: 6 1/2" W x 4 3/4" D x 24" H to top of finial.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include numerous striations to quartz including some with discolorations, chip to right top corner of one of the lids and chip to left top corner to the other, losses to carving that do not detract from the overall presentation. Tested and found to be in working condition.
