About the Item
Pair of Dutch Art Nouveau Art Deco Hand-Painted Ceramic Table Lamps by Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek, 1910–1917. These rare vintage lamps, handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, transform early 20th-century Dutch vases into elegant functional art. The tall flared ceramic bases are richly glazed in teal green, burnt orange, cobalt blue, and ivory, decorated with floral and geometric motifs characteristic of the factory’s celebrated Lindus decor. Each vase has been converted into a lamp without any alteration to the original ceramics.
The Lindus pattern reflects a pivotal artistic moment at Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek—a fusion of Art Nouveau’s organic curves and floral motifs with the emerging linear stylization of early Art Deco. The result is a design that bridges two defining eras of European decorative art.
Paired with new custom lampshades in soft white and finished with sage-colored cords, these pieces preserve the integrity of the antique ceramics while offering a refined modern presentation.
About Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek:
The Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek (Arnhem, Netherlands), active in the early 1900s, was renowned for its innovation in form and glaze. During the 1910–1917 period, the factory’s artists produced works that mirrored the evolution from flowing Jugendstil influences to more structured Art Deco geometry, resulting in highly collectible ceramics prized for their color, craftsmanship, and balance of nature and abstraction.

Spanish Revival Mid-Century Benlloch Manises Ceramic Table Lamp
By Manuel Benlloch
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
Meticulously hand-crafted by Amitābha Studio from a vintage Manuel Benlloch Manises vase, this table lamp captures the spirit of Spanish Revival design. The tall, hexagonal base is finished in an ivory crackle glaze, a hallmark of Benlloch wares, and painted freehand in a bold palette of cobalt blue, rust-orange, and cream. Its rich patterning draws on Spain’s historic Hispano-Moresque and Mudéjar traditions, translated here into a vibrant mid-century ceramic form.
Each of the six faces is framed by cobalt ribs and filled with repeating ogee arches, lattice lozenges, and scrolling arabesques. The rhythmic interplay of color and geometry creates a bold yet refined surface, perfectly balancing ornament and structure. The underside bears the hand-painted signature “Benlloch España,” affirming its authenticity as a product of this renowned Manises workshop, active across three generations in the 20th century.
To echo the vase’s architectural silhouette, Amitābha Studio has paired the base with a new bespoke hexagonal lampshade. Crafted in warm Dupion silk in tones of orange, peach, and gold, the fabric’s natural texture harmonizes with the arabesques on the ceramic. A Houlès passementerie trim completes the design, while the shade’s golden glow enhances the lamp’s sculptural presence when illuminated.
