About the Item
Pair of Antique 19th-Century Italian Empire Gilded Lamps in Carved Wood, centerpiece, made with early-1800s finials, vases on hexagonal plinth with vegetable pastille carving frames, mounted as a lamp with circular shade in ivory-colored fabric with gilded trimmings.
The vases are made of basswood, turned and carved in the round with original gilding in fine gold leaf on red bole preparation. Originally these gilded finials decorated the end of a canopy or balustrades, but they are ancient decorative elements that lend themselves well as bases for making unique table, study or bedside lamps. The ancient plinths are from northern Italy and are in good condition, with minimal defects consistent with dating. They are electrified according to European standards and work with an E27 bulb.

In order to export any antique Italian object, we must apply for a government export license, the so-called Belle Arti, the issuance of which takes at least two weeks, to be added to the shipping time.
