About the Item
This imposing pair seem to me to be of Swedish origin although there is no mark of any description. They are unusually large and are not at all Ecclesiastical in ornament which suggests to me a Protestant sensibility. There are swags, paterae, leaves and acanthus. Rising from a trefoil stepped base, the central stem has balusters and spiraling leafy garlands terminating in a large drip pan. Part of their rustic charm is the careful riveted repairs. They are now mounted as lamps.
