About the Item
Large sculptural table lamps by RAAK, executed in aluminium, handmade glass and original stainless steel shades, The Netherlands, 1972.
These rare lamps are attributed to Nanny Still, one of the most renowned designers associated with the celebrated Amsterdam lighting manufacturer RAAK.
Each lamp features a central tubular aluminium column fitted with five rotating aluminium rings. The three middle rings are set with handmade coloured glass discs, with matching glass plates on both the front and back of each ring. All five rings rotate a full 360 degrees and can be positioned at varying angles, allowing countless sculptural configurations.
The combination of precision metalwork and artisanal glass creates a cool, minimal, and distinctly modern aesthetic, an iconic example of early-1970s Dutch design that feels remarkably contemporary today.
