About the Item
Pair of table made from solid mahogany and brass nail decoration around the lamp base in the style of Otto Schulz. Made with his patented technique "Bo point", where brass nails where used as decoration creating different patterns on various objects like boxes, lamps, furniture and most famously cabinets. New lamp shades and electric cables. Original light switch on the chord and brass fixtures. Very good vintage condition with light age related wear and patina.
Otto Schulz founder of Gothenburg interior company BOET was one of Swedens most prominent designer during the early 20th century. he is known for his chunky and highly original designs making some of Swedens best Art Deco and Swedish grace furniture. Schulz developed several furniture decoration techniques which he searched patents for. "Bopoint" where brass nails where attached to different objects to create patterns and figures as decoration. "Botarsia" and specific type of metal marquetry as decoration and "Bosaik" a kind of decorative mosaic.
