About the Item
Pair of table lamps manufactured in France during the 50/60s by the company KI-E-KLAIR (ki-é-klair). Made in iron chromed plated and aluminum lampshades, they are articulated and can be used in many positions. The cables and power sockets are new. It will be easy to change for a US socket if necessary, just ask i you want me to do it before sending. The lamps show signs of wear and age, as can be seen in the photos, but are generally in good condition. The bases are made of cast iron and are therefore weighted to ensure good stability. The switches are located on the bases and the bulb sockets are bayonet type. The new black electrical cables are covered with fabric. They would be perfect as bedside lamps on nightstands, but also on a desk, shelf, or piece of furniture. Those lamps have been created by Alphonse Pinoit who was not really a designer but rather a craftsman running a small workshop near Paris. If you want more informations about this man and the history of his company, just ask me as I wrote an article on the subject for a French magazine after being the first to discover the whole story behind this family and this French brand.
