The lamp features a thick molded white-glass shade with a very subtle natural yellowing consistent with age. It sits on an exceptional hand-wrought iron base, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship typical of the period. About Pierre Gilles :
Pierre Gilles was an early 20th-century Parisian artisan known for his finely crafted lighting and decorative metalwork. Operating from 27 rue Esquirol in the 13th arrondissement, Gilles produced lamps and architectural lighting that combined robust wrought-iron structures with high-quality molded or pressed glass shades. Although less commercialized than some of his contemporaries, his work is prized today for its authenticity, craftsmanship, and strong alignment with the aesthetics of France’s most influential Art Deco designers. His pieces remain sought-after for their sculptural iron bases and their harmonious blend of form and function.
