About the Item
Polinnia table lamp, design Studio BBPR, Production Artemide, Milan 1950s. Studio BBPR was founded in Milan in 1932, bringing together architects and designers of different origins and cultures: Gian Luigi Banfi, Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti and Ernesto Nathan Rogers. The studio became one of the protagonists of Italian rationalism, opposing the monumentalist taste of those years, as it was driven by a spirit of avant-garde and innovation. Following the death of their colleague Banfi during the Second World War, the three partners undertook a reinterpretation of the principles of purity of traditional architecture and Neoliberty. The BBPR studio operated a true mingling of different styles, giving their works a touch of originality and adapting to specific commissions.
The Polinnia lamp is a light sculpture, perfectly in the style of BBPR, with an extremely geometric volume and finished with just the right decorative touch. The object is in good condition, requiring no restoration, but shows the beauty of time on its materials.
