About the Item
A polished brass Corinthian column table lamp, early 20th century, circa 1920s. The design takes the form of a fluted classical column rising from a stepped square base, drawing directly on architectural models of antiquity.
A form long favoured in Edwardian-inspired interiors, particularly domestic libraries and studies, such lamps were also widely used in drawing rooms of the period and remained a staple of refined interiors thereafter.
Shown with a fuchsia red shade for styling purposes; shade available separately.
