Nathalie du Pasquier
George Sowden, founding members of the Memphis-Milano group collaborated together to create a set of limited edition, small batch production objects, ranging from clocks, fruit bowls to table lamps. Although all objects principally served a purpose, clearly the intention was to let function follow form, and no so much the banality of day-to-day use.
The design of this table lamp is a perfect reflection of the 1980s Memphis-Milano style, using bold colors, bold forms, and where functionality is put after its form.
This table lamp from the Objects for the Electronic Age is extremely rare, and makes a real collectors’ item.
