About the Item

Poul Henningsen 'PH 3½-2½' Table Lamp for Louis Poulsen in Yellow The 'PH 3½-2½' table lamp is based on Poul Henningsen's original drawings from the late 1920s and early 1930s. Henningsen designed hundreds of lamps based on the three-shade-system he developed in 1926, pioneering superior lighting for a range of applications. Executed in powder coated deep drawn aluminum, opal glass, and silk matte brown, the 'PH 3 ½-2 ½' table lamp is modern yet classic with an extremely high level of detail. The copper base is painted silk matte brown to capture the finish of the original design. The red, yellow, green or white powder coated aluminum top shade reflects the light gently downwards. The two mouth-blown opal glass lower shades provide pleasant, glare-free lighting. Price is per item. Available in unlimited quantities in your choice of red, green, yellow, or white. This listing is for the 'PH 3 ½-2 ½' table lamp in yellow. In-stock lead time 1-3 days. Out of stock lead time up to an additional 8 weeks or more. Please note that inventory can change at any time. Poul Henningsen Ph 3½-2½ Table Lamp
By Poul Henningsen, Louis Poulsen
Located in Berkeley, CA
The louvre is 100% glare-free, with a design based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs most of the light downwards. For some variants, the top shade is made of deep drawn aluminum with white inner surface that ensures gentle, downward light distribution. The two bottom handblown opal glass shades ensure a large glare-free light surface, making optimum use of the light source to provide comfortable, functional lighting. The PH 3½-2½ Glass Table lamp was designed in 1928 and is one of many advanced projects undertaken by Poul Henningsen in the development of his world-famous three-shade system from 1926. Poul Henningsen devoted most of his life to taming electric light. He based his three-shade design on a logarithmic spiral to make optimum use of the light source. He was constantly doing calculations and tests. The form of the shades was determined by the way they were required to shape and reflect the light, and the lamp was designed to be glare-free. The first PH Table lamp...

Arne Jacobsen AJ Table in Ocher Yellow for Louis Poulsen
By Arne Jacobsen
Located in Tilburg, NL
Arne Jacobsen AJ Table in Ocher Yellow for Louis Poulsen. Designed in 1957. New, current production. Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ Lamp for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Collection) in 1957. Today, the AJ family is regarded as the design that the Danish architect is best known for all over the world. At that time, the AJ family comprised a table and a floor lamp as well as a wall lamp, a small table lamp and a table lamp that was designed to attach to the table. The wall lamp could be found in beautiful rows in stainless steel in the lobby when the hotel was opened in 1960. In combination with the pendant AJ Royal, the AJ Lamp formed part of the overall design concept that Jacobsen created for the hotel. Arne Jacobsen did not just design the hotel down to the smallest detail for SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), he also designed almost all the hotel’s original furniture and utility items. The profile of the AJ Lamp with its straight lines and its combination of oblique and right angles is not only seen as a formal parallel to the profile of the Series 3300 seats, but also to the geometric profiles of his buildings. The AJ Lamp was used in several parts of the hotel, in copper and stainless steel. Furthermore, it was originally available in light grey, dark brown and black like the AJ Pendant...
