About the Item

A rare set of six large candlesticks or candelabra, carved from cream-lacquered and gilded wood. Placed on the floor or on altars in churches or private chapels, which they illuminated and decorated, these candelabra are painted only on the visible side. Italian work from the early 19th century, these candlesticks show wear, cracks, losses, and traces of treated wood-boring insects. Height 137 cm, base diameter approximately 35 cm.
