About the Item

Vintage Space Age table lamp, likely of Belgian or Dutch origin, produced in the 1960/70s. This piece is defined by its iconic "UFO" or "Flying Saucer" silhouette, a hallmark of Progressive Design from the mid-20th century. The lamp features a solid conical base crafted from white textured plaster, which provides a neutral foundation that contrasts beautifully with the shade. The wide, low-profile shade is made of metal finished in a warm matte ochre / mustard yellow paint. Uniquely, the lamp is topped with a frosted glass diffuser disk held in place by a cylindrical finial, allowing for a soft upward glow in addition to the downward light. Under the shade, the lamp accommodates three light bulbs, creating a uniform and atmospheric light distribution. Condition Report: In good vintage condition. The lamp is fully functional. The ceramic base is in very good shape. The yellow metal shade shows signs of age and use, including some surface scratches and paint chips along the rim (visible in detail photos), which adds to its authentic vintage patina.
