About the Item

Table lamp attributed to Mazzega. Produced by "Bullicant" technique of Murano glass. Technique made its own and perfected by the Mazzega glassworks in the 1950s. In the international panorama of "art glass," Mazzega Glassworks still represents, at the threshold of the third millennium, a craft and manufacturing activity of absolute excellence. It is the direct heir of the historic Mazzega IVR, which was the architect, from the mid-1950s, of a profound artistic and conceptual renewal in the field of art glass production in Murano. It is from that period that he collaborated with the artists of the Fucina degli Angeli, which counts in its ranks, a refined and cosmopolitan elite of the twentieth-century European art world: from Marc Chagall to Pablo Picasso, from Giò Ponti to Georges Braque and Jean Cocteau, from Fulvio Bianconi to Carlo Scarpa. Mazzega Glassworks houses in its prestigious permanent collections the best of what is produced in Murano.
