About the Item

A beautiful Scandinavian neoclassical table lamp from the 1920s, produced by the renowned Swedish silversmithing company CG Hallberg in Stockholm. It features a gracefully slender stem standing on a circular foot, and is complete with the original silver-plated lamp holder with integrated light switch. A cylindrical lampshade decorated with dried flowers is included. The foot bears the CG Hallberg hallmark. CG Hallberg was founded in Stockholm in 1860 by silversmith Carl Gustav Hallberg. In the 1870s, the company was taken over by industrialist Jean Jansson, who expanded the business into the largest silversmithing firm in Stockholm, with branches in several cities across Sweden. For a brief period around the turn of the century, CG Hallberg also operated a showroom in the prestigious Palais Royal in Paris. By 1930, the company employed over 600 people, many of them highly skilled silversmiths.
