About the Item

Here is a very charming, yet modern, hand-carved wood lamp. The carver is unknown, but the "ball in cage" technique has been a popular subject in folk art pieces for decades. Based on the provenance of the lamp, we estimate this was created in the 1960s. The lamp is in good condition with wear commensurate with age and use. There is one deeper scratch on the round plinth. That said, this is at the back and by no means detracts from the overall presentation of the lamp. The lamp is in working order and has a three-way switch. The total height of the lamp measures 40.5 inches with the shade shown, however, the shade is not included. The total of the wood body is 20.25" and the base measures 7" deep and 6.25" wide. The shade shown measures 10" x 15" x 16" high. This lamp could be used in a variety of interior styles. It would work beautifully in a more rustic interior, but could also add warmth and charm in a more modern setting.
