MONUMENTAL! TONY PAUL FOR MUTUAL SUNSET LAMP CO! SAUCER SWING ARM LAMP One of the Rarest Tony Paul Designs! Incredible Unusual Construction! APPROX. DIMENSIONS: HEIGHT : 24" WIDTH : 16" Tony Paul designed some incredible mid century modern lamps and lighting fixtures for Mutual Sunset Lamp Co. This design is one of the most coveted and hard to acquire - the Nessen style swing arm Saucer lamp! Tony Paul uses enamel, great lines and rich brass to achieve an iconic design that is coveted by interior designers and design aficionados everywhere! This lamp was featured in IRON MAN 2 on the desk of Tony Stark's father Howard Stark. If you were both a genius and a tycoon, this was the sort of lamp you would have in the mid century - a very exclusive lamp! This lamp makes a magnificent statement and captures the eye as only a Tony Paul design can! Like some Saucer landing from another world, this lamp features unusual elements unseen on any other lamp! The lamp uses a glass diffuser floating on the unique rectangular Sunset Mutual harp, but the glass it is kept in place by a brass spider and then capped by a solid brass finial. It's *extremely rare* to find all the parts present on one of these lamps. Also, the spiders usually have a broken foot if they are present. This one is 100%! Elegant as well as distinctive, this design is quite unusual! This lamp is a work of art. It looks as contemporary today as it did nearly half a century ago! Lamp is in very fine vintage condition. Some tarnish spotting on lustrous brass. Age appropriate wear throughout. Brass spider is present and holds diffuser in place well. Arm extends well with no sag to the elbow! Amazing to see this lamp in such a complete, original condition! Displays beautifully! This rare gorgeous lamp will be the star of any distinguished interior, whether it be in your NY penthouse, CA case study home or West Palm Beach estate!
